I. M. Chait Gallery at 9330 Civic Center Drive, Beverly Hills, California.

I have had favorable/mixed experiences with I.M. Chait Gallery so far. I have purchased from them a few times, most of which were great deals. However, I purchased two pieces from one of their "Asia Week Annual Premier Sales" - one of which turned out to be about 1,000 years newer than was described when I had my collection appraised, and was not of the period stated. (I wanted to mention, that it was listed in the sale as "Tang Dynasty, of the period" not "style of" - I want to be clear on this.) I understand that they have a no returns policy, however, as a "leading expert in the field", I hoped that they would only sell what they are sure is authentic. That being said, mistakes do happen, however I was of course disappointed. On a positive note, everyone that I have dealt with at Chait has been very nice, and the owner is an extremely nice and well-meaning man. I will continue to do business with them, however, you need to do your research and due-diligence prior to bidding.
